Problem finding game servers

Hi folks. It's been a long time since I posted here, but I remember receiving decent help and I couldn't find anything on this issue.

My problem is that suddenly, with all my online games (CoD, CS:S, RS to name a few) I get very few servers in my server browser. This just recently started and I haven't made any changes to my system or filter settings and such. It's quite irritating since I know for a fact that there are thousands of CS servers and yet I get a meager 30-40. It's also strange because the 40 or so servers will appear very quickly, as if getting ready to show a whole huge list, then suddenly stop, cutting me off with very little servers to choose from.

Has anyone ever experienced this before? I remember a friend mentioning that it was happening (in particular to CS) but I can't remember if he ever was able to resolve the issue. Any pointers or suggestions? Oh and just to be official I guess I should list some system specs...


P4 2.7 overclocked to 3.1
1 Gig RAM
150 GB HD
Windows XP
Geforce 4 TI 4200 (unfortunately my ATI took a poop)
(T1 internet connection)

Noone has an idea of what my problem could be? I wasn't sure what forum to start this thread in... should it be moved to somewhere where it could perhaps get more attention from people more knowledgable about the subject?

Forgive me for... well this would be triple-posting I guess... but it appears I was a bit hasty in posting my issue and upon further investigation Ive found that the server lists dont stop updating completely, just slow down... way down. To an absolute crawl. No matter the filters.

Im not even sure where to begin troubleshooting this. Its strange to me that it would start doing this all of a sudden when just last week I was gettin thousands of servers in a matter of seconds. Its very frustrating so please try to understand my impatience!
