Recording Streaming Audio

I saw that a question similar to this was asked earlier. However, I would like to expand on that questions.

Is there software out there that you can program to record streaming audio at a certain time? Similar to the good old VCR. I know some site have achrives that you can listen but I would still like to try it out.

Thanks

I've had a couple of proggies but they didn't work worth a darn.
I have been told, although I haven't tried it, that you can do it by plugging a patch cord in from the sound out to the line in and use the recorder feature in windows.
