I cleared the cache in my Temporary Internet files folder. When I run a directory of Temporary Internet Files, all that is shown - that remains - are my Cookies.
However, when I look at the "Properties" of Temporary Internet Files, I am told that it contains 211 Folders, and thousands of files representing 20+ Mb. I remember, once when I ran scan disk, getting an error on a file something like "content.ie/OTY96HG1" (something strange like that). I suspect that is what these folders/files are. Can anyone give me some help? What are these files. Why can't I view them? Thank you. |

1. Open My Computer and go TOOLS>FOLDER OPTIONS>VIEW, Under Hidden Files and Folders select View All.
2. Right Click on the IE Icon and select Properties. Under the History reduce the number of days to save history down from the default of 20 days. 3. In the IE Properties box xlick on the Content Tab and the go to the Auto Complete section and uncheck all the boxes. 4. In the IE Properties box click on the Advanced Tab and page down until the very bottom section. There check the boxes for,"Do not save encryted data" and Empty Temporary Internet File Folder when Browser Is Closed. 5. Get a prgram called Windows Washer (15 day trial is free) from www.webroot.com |
