Opera Mouse Gesture "Back" quit working

For years, with several versions of Opera, I have used the "Back" mouse gesture (hold down R button & click L button). A couple of months ago, most of the time, when I perforn the gesture, the "context menu" quickly pops up before the gesture is executed. Very annoying.

Anyone know of a fix for this gesture that I miss sooooo much???

BTW: this problem is the same with the newest ver 8.5, and the older ver 8.0

Have your tried reinstalling? how bout looking in the options/prefrences?

I have not tried re-installing, but inlight of the fact that this same problem started occuring a couple of months ago on the older ver 8.0 (which I had used sucessfully for at least a year).

I don't see anything in the Opera preferences\options...regarding the gesture...it is suppost to work by default.

I think the problem is most likely to be a mouse properties issue, but again, in mouse properties I don't see anything to change as far as the speed of clicks.

This is a Logitech optical mouse.

It appears the problem was the mouse...probably dirty contacts. A different mouse on the same setup works fine.
