Whenever I am logged on for an extended period of time without doing anything my computer pops up a screen and says that I will be disconnected in 30 seconds. It then gives me the option of clicking to stay connected or disconnecting. How do I turn this off so I don't get disconnected when I am away from my comp?

Start - Settings - Control Panel - Internet Options - Connections - highlight your default connection - Settings - Advanced - you will find what you need in there........UNLESS it's your ISP that's doing it - I know Netzero and AOL does and you can't shut that off.

If it is your ISP bootin you for being idle, theres programs already written that will keep you un-idle. I have been hearing lately that some ISPs such as MSN are bootin people every couple hours. I don't think anyone has found a way to avoid that yet.

You can try setting your e-mail program to check mail every 5 minutes - I do this and have stayed on line for a week straight. So far my ISP hasn't bitched. If I don't do this, I get tossed after about 20 minutes of no activity.
