Internet Explorer 6.0

I've looked everywhere and Microsoft's website is way to difficult to fine what I'm looking for.

When I click on the "e" to open IE6 the hourglass comes up and disappears. Wait... try it again, wait... nothing. I then open my computer and in the address bar type in a web page and it navigates right to the site.

I check the "task manager" and for as many times as I have clicked the "e" there is the iexplore.exe file in the Processes section. But IE is not open and running.

I'm running Windows XP, 2.4gHz, 256 RAM, SP2, Dell.

What's up? Can anyone help?
Trey

Have you scanned for spyware/adware with Adaware and Spybot? Did your Dell come with an XP cd? Some do and you may need to do a repair install.

Repair install?? I put the Windows XP CD in and it is SP1 and I have SP2 on the computer. Didn't know if I should proceed or not?? May be my last ditch effort will be to reinstall XP.

Thoughts?

If you do the repair install it will revert back to SP1 and you'll have to add SP2 again. You can make a slipstreamed copy which combines XP with SP2 and run the repair after that. That way you won't have to reinstall SP2. Here's a "how to".
