Looking for a Free Online Gift Registry

Greetings Everyone,

Exciting news: I just proposed to my girlfriend this weekend , and we have decided to go with a short engagement period. That being said, I'm looking for recommendations for a free online gift registry service. There are so many out there that are tied to specific online stores & such, but we are looking for a simple online registry where we can custom add any items we like and not specify any particular store. Of course, we'd like people to be able to tick things off so that everone can see that each item is being purchased by someone.

I'm aware of a PHP registry at sourceforge, but I don't have the ability to set up my own web server and run it myself.

I would really appreicate any recommendations that you have.
