I just realized that, seemingly, every web site that I visit creates a link in the address bar of my computer. I have what looks like thousands of web address links and thier related files stored in my computer. I tried arrowing down and deleting, like I do to erase a search drop down option, but nothing goes away. So, how do I erase, delete, eliminate all these web links that are stored in my address drop down list?
Of course, if I am in the wrong forum, like I have been so many times before, Please move this question to the correct forum and remember to tell me that you moved it. Thank you all for your help! Oh, by the way, I am running a P4 with XP Pro and IE. |

How to removed history:
Tools > internet options > clear history (the button is toward the bottom) > exit IE and open it again Turning off autocomplete to remove entries in the search bars : Tools > internet options > (advanced tab - click on it) > uncheck the one that says enable auto complete Hope that helps

Hey, Ryan
I attempted to follow your instrucions and I have failed. All those pesky addresses are still in the address bar. I was hoping that when I clicked on the down arrow, that there would be nothing there, but there is still all of those addresses. What could I have done wrong. I even rebooted and still... Oh, I didn't find the enable auto complete in the advanced tab. I did find an auto complete tab under content and I went there and disabled the auto complete function, but, they are still there. Help me again, please. newomij |

This forum is not for asking questions or getting help...it's a forum where you post helpful tips for others to use.
Please post your question in the Internet/WWW/Internet Servers forum. Cricket
