Hey guys, I have noticed several different programs out there that claim to boost your internet connection such as Web Rocket and so on that will supposedly make your connection 200% faster. Do these things work or do they cause big time headaches? If so, which ones do you suggest?

Every machine I've worked on with a web accellerator caused big time headaches.

Most "accelerators" work by caching pages in anticipation of what you will look at next, it does not actually speed up your connection, it only gives the appearance of it at times. I think they should be banned because they are bandwidth hogs and should not be used by responsible computing people, just my opinion.

Thanks for the info. That is sort of what I figured. I would probably run a little faster if I didn't try and open so many windows at a time
I am a bit of a power surfer at times. Will have to get me a Bigger, Badder, machine to keep up with me. This one is 3 years old and things have evolved a great deal in that time.
