Hi,
Im not sure if this should be posted here but if not can mods please move to the appropriate forum. I have my own website and i would like to know how can i get people to see my website over the internet? Im not gonna post a link to it in here obviusly due to it been against the forum rules but my website is also a forum dedicated to playstation & Xbox consoles. I know you will all say submit my websites Url to google and other search engines but ive already done that but i never seem to get any people look at my site. Any recomendations? Thanks |

Could you maybe let the big guns like xboxaddict and teamxbox know that you're new and ask if they would post a news topic letting everyone know about your new site? No harm in an email to them I guess.

As far as your question goes, you just have to develop your site, add some good content, submit it to the search engines and keep doing those over and over. It doesn't happen overnight and an area like yours will take some time since it is already pretty saturated. So don't worry so much about promoting it as much as you worry about what kind of great content that you are going to have on the site.

another thing you can do is join forums on that subject, and every time you give some advice, mention that you run your website and that way people (who find your advice useful) will check out your site.
you should obviously have some good content there to keep people coming back.

Put a link to your site in your sig on all forums you are a member of. Submit to search engines like Google. Go to gaming forums and ask the admins and mods if they have an issue with posting a link to your site, this way you might gain some trust rather than get banned on some forum for randomly spamming your site. And most importantly - word of mouth. Make T-Shirts if you have to. Go to your local Gaming Shop and ask them to pass out sheets of paper with a little description of your site and what your mission is.
