Hello all! I believe this is the first time posting to this particular forum, as I'm still pretty much a beginner at some aspects of being a webmaster, specifically running the actual server my site is on. Being very much a beginner in that aspect, I haven't really read through to see if someone else has posted a similar question, so if it's already been asked, I do apologize. ANYway, here goes...
I recently paid for having webforwarding service (as they called it), giving me an actual domain name instead of an IP address. The way the implimented the webforwarding was by throwing in a tiny frame across the top of the page. (This can be viewed by going to
24.17.241.248 and
www.6thworld.com) Unfortunately, since I have chosen to use frames in my site (yeah, yeah, leave it alone..

), the top frame severely disrupts how links engaging the frames work... As well, when links are accessed, because that tiny frame is still active, it will only show the domain, and not list the page being displayed, directories, etc.
I was informed by the people who do the webforwarding,
www.24-7domainregistration.com, that one of the few ways I can correct this would be to open up a webhosting account with someone else, and get the nameserver addresses, which would correct the problem. However, since I am fortunate enough to be running my own webserver right from my NetBox, is this something I can access on that computer as well?
In other words, does my webserver have/run nameserver addresses as well, inherent in the webserver, or is there some actual "Nameserver software" I could download to run along side the webserver? For that matter, what are Nameservers?
