Problems with uploading pictures

I'm having a hard time uploading pictures to Webshots. I've done this before with no problems, about a year ago. I have Windows XP.
The problem I'm having is when I go through the procedures to upload pics to Webshots, the outcome is a blank square with a small red "X" up in the corner (instead of my picture).
I've gone through the Q&A's or troubleshoot on Webshots, but I still get the same outcome.
I have an Anti-Virus software on my computer. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
I don't know if this is the right forum to go into, but if SOMEONE can possibly point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it!!!!

Make sure it is not a Java issue. If your unsure about it download the most recent version at Java.com. Not sure if this will fix the problem, but this is what I would do.
