I've got a feeling I'm missing something elementary. This is a normal situation between me & computer.
Problem: I get the "contains no data" error on firefox. I switched to Internet Exploiter and got a similar defect. The page wouldn't load. This doesn't happen with every site, but mostly webmail, like hotmail. I am a damned fool, yes, but what specifically am I doing wrong? |

But you are getting pages to load sometimes? What's your internet connection setup?

Can you post a link here that has problems? That way others can test it out...

Nvidia firewall is to blame, I think...
I followed the links you provided, Statica, thanks. I'd already glanced through them before posting here, but through you, I studied them in detail. I tried the advice. No luck. I then disabled my Norton Internet Security (firewall). Still no luck. Then I noticed the onboard nvidia firewall (came with mainboard). I shut that puppy off, and guess what? Hotmail came through like a charm. Go figure.
TwoRails, that's good advice, but there's only been one other problem besides hotmail, and I didn't want to link through my hotmail account. Thanks, anyways. Thanks also, to Kov-Ice. I really appreciate all of your help, here at pcmech. S.E. |
