Hello All, when i use Internet Explorer Latest Version 6, when i have "Enable Third Party Browser Extensions (Requires Restart) Ticked, it crashes when i am on certain websites, including Ebay and others. A messages appears in a grey box, i have to click ok, then I.E. shuts down.

When i untick it, restart my computer all is o.k.

I cannot get i cannot now get Google, Ebay, Skype toolbars e.t.c in Internet Explorer.

Has anyone heard of this and a fix.

Otherwise will have to Await I.E. 7 release.

Exclamation Re:Malware

Hello Glc, done malware, Norton virus done everything, no virus, no malware, ran a-quote, spybot, e.t.c.

Ran a program like SFC found that i needed the IEXPLORE.EXE whether its corrupt i don't know, have not got the windows CD disc 2 that i need, or disc one. Do not wish to do a Packard Bell restore, it still will ask for that IEXPLORE.EXE again, must be corrupt, or something.

Just saying to someone else, wonder if i can find it on the Internet, download it, and Copy it over the other original one, or delete it and replace it with a the new downloaded one????

Not sure how though.

Thanks, GEP

Re:Internet Problem

Hello GLC, don't want two operating systems on my computer.
For one thing, when i come to Ghost, will not have any room on my external hard drive, like keeping Ghost in full instead of condensed if you know what i mean.
Also, more problems, other operating systems have problems as well, only got this one one wrong with I.E.

Thanks for your reply, GEP

How do i get Skype bar on my Firefox Toolbar??

Aso, there are TWO Google search boxes, anyway of getting rid of one of them?

How do i change the colour of the Favourites from that horrible blueish colour?

Anything important i need to know Re:Firefox?

You can customize Firefox in many ways, you just have to look around the options and try things, it also has a decent help system. To customize a particular item, try a right click and see what you can do. The default Firefox start page does have a Google search box on it - just change your start page. You will still have the Google search window on the top navigation bar.

You need to download the Skype toolbar for Firefox and install it.

By the way, Firefox is not an operating system. It's only a web browser and doesn't take up much space at all. I have about 6 different web browsers on this system.

Fixing Internet Explorer can be very difficult because of the way it's so tightly integrated into the operating system - sometimes only an operating system reinstall can fix it. That's a huge pain in the arse.

Re:Internet Problem

Hello GLC, yes, Internet Explorer is well and truly bedded into my Windows XP system.

Downloaded and installed Skype, seems to be working ok, but will try it on Ebay and windows downloads, thats how i found out i had the problem with I.E.

Just tried the above, works o.k.

How do you change the colour of the Favourites, from light blueish colour, to another???

How do i move the Favourites to the Top, tried, just open and it keeps closing.

Also, how do i move say, Skype, or Google lower Tabs to another place on the top, have tried???

Finally, is it a good thing to store my passwords to websites on Firefox, as it asks if i want to or not.

Thanks GLC for your help, good job i am not paying you, you would be rich by now, lol.

Thanks, GEP

I can't answer your questions as I don't use Firefox much, sorry. We have some real fans here who may be able to help you when they happen across this thread. All I can suggest is use the help system, try right clicking on things, try dragging things. It's up to you if you want to store your passwords.

You cannot use Firefox for Windows Update - you still need IE for that. If your IE works with 3rd party extensions disabled, then leave it be.
