Firefox Problem
FF has been acting really strange these past few days. First, all of my bookmarks are gone, the search engines list is empty, and when the screen opens, it is always really big no matter how I change it while I'm using FF. I tried uninstall and reinstalling and nothing worked. I deleted the Mozilla Firefox folder after uninstalling and the problems still occur. Another weird thing is that the theme still stays the same, even after uninstallation.
Is this malware? If so, what do I need to do to get rid of it? I have Spybot S&D, ZoneAlarm, and avast! all running. Thanks! |

Same exact thing happend to me. I tried everything but nothing worked. I ran so many malware scanners and virus scanners, and nothing. The only solutions I found was to go back to the previous FF version. After rolling back, everything was back to normal. Also like you, the weirdness didn't happen right away, it only happened after a few weeks or so, I think it might have been caused by an extension issue that resulted when the extensions updated (just a thought).

If you need to get rid of everything, you have to get rid of your profile folder. That's where all custom settings are located.
Docs and settings\username\application data\mozilla\firefox\profiles\....... |

I reverted to 1.0.7 and everything seems back to normal. I also deleted the application data for FF and the Mozilla Folder in Program files. Ryan, did you go back to the newer version, or did you just stay with the older one?
Thanks! |
