I was wondering if Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 Beta was available to download and try? Thanks.

Yes it is. You can download it here.

Just click the Beta 2 preview in the upper right hand corner and it will take you to the download.

Mod note: Tyler, the question wasn't which browser is better. Or which browser do you recommend. Best to answer the question properly, as scomac has done, and let folks determine for themselves whether they like the product or not. We don't need any product vs product discussion. Those have been done already.

One thing I should have mentioned after my first post, is that I would definitely keep the newsgroup as a favorite if you do decide to install Beta 2 of IE in case you have issues after the installation.

The following is a quote from Step 3: "Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview support will not be available from Microsoft. Limited peer-to-peer support is available via this newsgroup."

Just in case, you can reach the newsgroup here.

Thanks everyone for your input. Scomac, I will keep that newsgroup handy. I just got a new laptop, so I am using my old one to try different software on and I won't feel so bad if my system gets screwed up. Panama Red, what are your opinions about Fire Fox and other browsers and do you have a link for that product vs. product comparison? Other opinions are also welcome. Where could I download Fire Fox from to play with it as well? Thanks again.

I would suggest starting a new thread on this. To get Firefox, you can download it from www.mozilla.org

FYI, I loaded IE7 B2 on my computer. First logon was to this site. The browser crashed due to an Iframe problem. Then I went to another site to check my email. Tried to download an word doc attachment. It failed to open and then failed to save the file to my hard drive. So I had it installed about 5 minutes and had to remove it. It looks more like an alpha version than a beta 2.

I actually used this browser before it was released to the public (beta 1). I had barely any problems, and I prefered it much more than Firefox. This beta 2 will take some getting used to, since a lot of things have moved around, but I still have no problems with it.

I was thinking about trying IE7 beta as well b/c I've been having problems with Maxthon, but I've been hearing negative reactions on the software.

Supposedly, the beta is aimed at pros, and a beta aimed at consumers will be released in some time. I'm still going to go ahead and give it a try but if you guys try it and don't like, don't be discouraged; supposedly IE7 *could/should* improve after a few bugs are worked out.

I have too ric and I really like the new interface. The only little tic I've seen is when entering urls that don't begin in www, like mail.yahoo.com. It says Windows cannot find it and to check my spelling. If I enter the same url like this http://mail.yahoo.com or www.mail.yahoo.com, it loads perfectly.

Edit
Gmail won't load either. Just sits there saying Loading...
