firefox 1.5 rant continued: the crashes keep coming

Ok, so I have the latest version. It was installed from scratch and this thing CONSTANTLY crashes, acts weird etc. I've posted previously about this and the problems haven't gone away. One of the most annoying bugs involves my bookmarks: I'm constantly having to click the bookmark toggle button because frequently it's the case where I can no longer click on any of the links under my bookmarks anymore. I'm constantly getting crashed out when I put searches in the google search field. And on and on and on. This has got be THE buggiest version of FF ever.

I have these problems on two different machines with different configurations so I can't be the ONLY person who's having problems.

Uninstall Firefox and completely remove all files, such as the program directory and your profile. Back up your bookmarks first, of course. Then see if the problems persist.

I can't help much, as FF works great for me and everybody I know. After you try the above, you might try v1.5.0.1. I take it you've done virus scans and the like? If you're still having problems, you may want to poke around at:

If it's giving you THAT much trouble and you want to continue using an alternative browser, try Opera.

I've already tried the above and I have the latest version. Another thing that happens often is that it doesn't always shut down completely when the program is closed. I have to go to task manager and end task.

I don't doubt that others are able to run it fine. I'm just saying that I've had far more problems with this version than I ever had with 1.0.

The latest rev warns that many extensions / plugins won't work correctly with the release. Did everybody upgrade to compatible extensions / plugins? (if they are even available?)
