upload speed on dsl
hey guys.....had to have the DSL repair guy out, kept dropping connection. Everything back to normal now, but he showed me the speed test site on www.dslreports.com. and my upload speed on only 66kbps-103kbps. He told me this is very low. My download is 1072 kbps. What do I need to change to increase the upload speed or do I really need to. I do more downloading that uploading. He wasn't sure what needed to be changed.

Do a tracert to dslreports, and see how many hops, and how long each one takes.
If you do an upload test to your ISP, I'll be it's really fast, but when you do one to any other server, it will slow down, depending how far away the server is. Same with downloads. |

Most ADSL providers cap your upload speeds at 90 or 128 kbps to discourage you from running servers on a residential service - looks like you are getting close to that. In order to get fast upload speeds, you have to pay for business grade SDSL.
