I thought I read somewhere that said depending on which shortcut key you use, the browser will add http://www.________.com, http://www.________.edu, http://www.________.org, or http://www.________.net to whatever you type on the URL. For example, if I type google and you do a Ctrl+Enter, the browser will automatically interprets as http://www.google.com. The problem I have is I don't remember which shortcut is for adding the .net, .org, and .edu. Your help is much appreciated.

Firefox keyboard shortcuts: http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/keyboard
Shift+Enter will complete a .net, ctrl+shift+enter will complete a .org |

Thank you for the response. However, it's not working as I have expected. When I do a shift+enter, the Save Page As poppup. When I do a Ctrl+Shift+Enter, a new windows popup goes into a .com instead of .org site. The shortcut link on mozilla page does not talk about completing a .org, .com, .edu, .gov, or .net.
