Opera issues

Is this a common problem with mail in Opera coming through a pop?

Gmail is the account I'm drawing the mail from.

Looks like whoever coded that didn't stick to standards and didn't take opera into account.

So it's a coding problem with the email and not a display problem with Opera?

Actually not quite true. Opera just does that for some unknown reason. It doesn't have anything to do with standards just the way that Opera renders the page. It looks like IE7 has similar problems.

Now they should have tested the page in Opera also. Another thing is that oftentimes HTML sent as an email is 'messed up' depending on the processor. Gmail for the most part does a decent enough job. Hotmail changes stylesheets, links and a lot of things though.

I forward everything from my main charter account to gmail, then have it sent to Opera. Should I just configure Opera to draw straight from the charter account? Would I get better results?

One problem would be that I don't have everything going to the charter account anymore now that I've used gmail so much.

It is probably happening when you forward it. That frequently causes some alignment issues. It is only cosmetic so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
