Active content protection in IE

Hi,

I have this really annoying problem...

But I guess this isn't the place to discuss that. Anyway, this one's about IE: I don't know how to switch off the pale yellow bar that appears at the top of the screen which says:

! To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options...

Under Tools - Options - Privacy tab: I have settings on 'Medium' and pop-up blocker unchecked. In my Google bar I have pop-up blocker unchecked. Yet still this appears whenever I want to download or when I go to many sites.

The biggest pain is that I am creating a site in Dreamweaver which I am creating entirely with html, and all links are small text images which don't open a new page, just change the current page - yet when I test this in IE each time I click a link I get the above message and irritating sound. There is no 'active content' in the site I am building! It concerns me that when I publish the site others will have the same problem too.

Any comments, suggestions, much appreciated.
Thanks for reading.

Found this that should fix it:

Quote:
1. In ie, Choose Internet Options - Advanced
2. Scroll down to the Security Heading
3. Check the option labeled: Allow active content to run in files on my computer. You can also check the box above this if you want to allow active content to run from CDs.
4. Restart Internet Explorer for the changes to take effect.

Excellent; thank you.

Just out of curiosity, could you, or anyone, explain why my html site using ordinary http links would be flagged up though?

Regards.

I don't think that it is your site at all. I think it is just the way that DW does the page preview.

When you get your site up, link back here and we can verify that.
