How did they do it?
Can someone enlighten me, the company I am working with warned employees a couple of months ago gaining access to internet sites (porn and the likes). A number of employees still surf the prohibited sites.
And just learned that some PCs could not access the internet except for the company's own website. Can someone tell me the why? How? |

Firstly are you sure that you are accessing the company website through the internet or the LAN?
It is possible that they simply stopped packets from the internet from being forwarded to the machines in question and vice versa. |

Most likely the company's web site is an intranet. I don't think it would be too difficult to block a certain computers access to web sites. All you need to do basically is check to see what user is logged in and then have some kind of database with permissions and just check the permissions table.

Be known that the company administrators are watching those people who are surfing if they are accessing the internet through proxy server through LAN, it can get pretty ugly, if the administrator print out the time and the site that they have visited. Very risky move.
