Explore web directory index.html

I know if you specify a folder in the weburl, it will open it so you can browse it like in an explorer setup. Does anyone know how to do this if index.html is in that directory? I want to see what files are in the directory without the index page loading by default.

It is a site/server setting that can be enabled at the webmaster's discretion.. so it isn't necessary that if there is no index file, the contents of the directory will be shown.
