Yahoo Browser Sidebar Problems
I have a customer whose computer keeps crashing and the first thing that seems to go wrong is Yahoo Messenger stops working. This is installed automatically from the DIAL install CD. Right off the bat the Yahoo Sidebar does not load and on the web I read that this feature is meant for broadband DSL. This is installed as a part of the Yahoo Browser with the Yahoo Dial CD. Anyone else experiencing this? I am getting tired of reinstalling XP over and over again. I have changed out hard drive, motherboard and memory. When the Messenger starts failing it is just a matter of time till he gets a blue screen and it is time to reinstall. Perhaps I could uninstall the Yahoo and install an OLDER Yahoo dial CD?
Please advise. Thanks, Alan Last edited by tacoeater; 05-21-2006 at 03:05 AM. |

I'd uninstall ALL the Yahoo garbage and set up a standard dialup networking connection in Windows - and use IE, not the Yahoo browser. The Yahoo CD is as bad as AOL.
