pegasus mail problem

I used pegasus a long time ago but then I switched. I tried to use it again the other day and when I told it to download new mail it connected the the gmail server but didint download anything. I thought it was odd so I uninstalled it, deleted the program folder and installed the latest version. I set it up and told it down download my mail. It downloaded the same messages it had before which date back to 2005 but still wont download my new mail for some reason. I know its not a problem with gmail because other clients work fine. I looked through all the settings and I cant find anything that would cause it to do that.

In your Gmail account, go to Settings and click on "Forwarding and POP". Make sure that POP is Enabled. If it's turned off, Pegasus cannot retrieve mail from Gmail.

Like I said, it downloads some of the mail, and other clients (thunderbird and opera) work fine. Ive always used a mail clients for my gmail. Enabling pop is the first thing I did when I got my account (I hate web applications).

Enable SSL (secured socket layer) for both POP and SMTP.
Then login with authentication. I accomplished this by setting my SMTP to login with the POP username and password.

SSL is already configured (it would give an error message saying it cant connect if it wasnt) and I can send mail just fine.

EDIT: I just reinstalled it again and deleted all the folders and registry items I could find related to it. It does not download any mail at all anymore, the few it showed before must have still been saved somewhere on my hard drive. But it can still send mail. This is really getting frustrating!

EDIT2: Got it working! I went in googles settings and saw that I could set it to download old mail or just new mail through pop. I set it to download old mail aswell and pegasus worked! Thing is, it wouldnt download new mail either before, but opera could. And when I had switched from thunderbird to opera it downloaded all mail, not just the new one. I dont know why gmail acts up like that with pegasus.
