What is opera? I've never heard of it. Is it a browser and is it worth getting?

Opera is an alternative browser and is growing in popularity, though doesn't have nearly as many users as Internet Explorer. Personally, I use Opera all the time - barely even touch IE any more - for this, I say it is worth getting. What is good about opera is no ActiveX, which, in IE, is a potential security threat. You can download it and check it out - it's free.

I gotta say opera has a better look to it. I like it a lot. Can you suggest any extensions Cricket or anyone else?

I don't get spyware with Opera - and I do go to some questionable sites. I just refuse the component downloads when offered.
Opera doesn't use extensions - it uses plugins and widgets. |

There was an Opera Adblock in the making, but the last time I tried it I gave it a 3 / 10 - it just wasn't what one was expecting.
here are some widgets - http://widgets.opera.com/ Last edited by rspassey; 06-23-2006 at 06:15 AM. |

I really love those widgets, I've got them lined up on my second monitor for quick reference when I need them. They really come in handy.
I currently have CSS Design Lab, Wikipedia, slashdot, a calculator, a dictionary, an IP identifier, weather, and an uptime monitor. Pretty cool stuff. They came a long way since the alpha I tried.
