E-mail service without pop ups!

Now I do not mind the ads that appear on various pages but I do seriously object to the pop ups that appear and that sometimes wipe out the desktop icons (I know how to get them bacK) does anyone know of an e-mail service that does not have pop ups?s. I usa usa.com and they are really getting bad now that they have changed their format. Netflix (not e-mail) is another serious offender. I pay for e-mail forwarding form usa.com to Outlook Express and this is a great feature. I would like to retain that feature with any new service that you can recommend to me.

Thanks so much for your assistance.

Don

I use Windows Live Mail. I like it much better than any email client I have used. There are no popups either (no ads at all with AdBlocker).

Try using yahoo mail with Ypops. Ypops pulls yahoo mail straight to your outlook client. No pop3 account needed.

Ditto. Gmail is by far my favourite free webmail service. You can even hook it up with Thunderbird and access your inbox without having to login on the gmail site. Gmail has no popups, but does have some text ads (its a free email address and 2+GB of storage, a few ads are fine in exchange)

A while ago I wrote a Webmail Face Off article - you might want to give it a look over.

Another vote for Gmail. Made the switch about 6 months ago. Much better than Hotmail or my old AOL mail.

Thanks

Thank you all for your help. Sounds like Gmail is the one to try. I might give Yahoo a chance as well. I really appreceate the ideas! BTW my computer just crashed with a worm or whatever that makes it start over and over. Will get on that right away too.

It seems your computer is quite infected - crashing, lots of popups, auto restarting. Try to boot into safe mode and run your Anti Virus and AntiSpyware programs - if you have a few, remember to update them first.... if you don't have any, try Ewido.net's online scan (will require you to boot into safemode with networking) and a scan from TrendMicro's online virus scanner (also requires safemode with networking).
