Hello, I am new here and am really hoping that someone could help. I have been having problems for a very long time and I am very tired of it. I have a good HP laptop with XP Pro. Every time I open any browser (I tried both explorer and firefox) the connection is great, super fast at all location I go to. However, about 5 minutes in, the open browser which I'm using is completely dead or super slow. Once I close that browser and open a new one again, its super fast. Thus, I am constatnly, every 5 minutes, closing and opening browsers. I just found out this is the same deal for FTP using explorer. PLEASE HELP!!!
I am running Zone Alarm and also Norton Anti-Virus and also Spybot. Thanks, elushka2 |

For giggles, try disabling Zone Alarm and see if it cuts out. You might want to enable Window's firewall if you're not behind a hardware firewall (like a router). I used to run Zone Alarm and once I had an install that kept doing something similar to online gaming.

That's a weird problem. Have you tried reinstalling firefox? Also try logging into a different user profile and see if it still happens.

How much space are you allocating for temporary internet files (IE) and browser cache (FF)? How often do you delete/purge them?
