I am using IE 5.5 and am having problems with my favorites. It seems that IE sorts them alphabetically when they are placed as Links ( or in a folder within Links) on my Address Bar. I would prefer that they not be sorted. I would like to choose and edit my own alignments like I can do in Netscape Bookmarks.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Dick |

Hi fritzdick,
I had assumed that someone had replied to this thread, but since they havn't... You can arrange the links in your favorites folder anyway you like just going to the Favorites menu and choose Organize Favorites. Then click on the link or folder you want and drag it up or down the menu. You can arrange your whole Favorites menu this way, but just make sure not to right click on the menu and select Sort by Name, which will re-alphabetize them. Hope that helps.

For my own sanity, I used the "organize favorites" and created 6 different folders, each with a different subject (mobo, modems, pc help, etc) and when saving a bookmark simply direct to one of these. Sure beats scrolling through 200 bookmarks. Easier to backup as well.

Also just remember its a right click while you are in the favorites menu to organize by name.
