Hi Gang

I think this is the right place to ask this question, If you have some thing in your add and remove programs that you cannot remove what are other options to get rid of it. The thing in question is SBC yahoo applications. When ever I click on it to change/remove, I get a hour glass for a short period of time then everything freezes up. I have tried this a # of times and it does it every time. I have gotten rid of all SBC yahoo browser and all, and this application is still there in my add and remove.

Any advice as to what I can do.? I have talked to the people at SBC but they are stumped.

Thanks and take care......Gunny

Hi Gang

Ya me too thanks this is a great site, it got rid of it alright. That has been one pain in the you know what. To have a site like this and not be able to get rid of it is really lame, I don't see the point of it, really. Frustrating. I don't need the Yahoo browser any way, I think it was causing me other problems too. The only thing I used it for was the e-mail audible notification in their messenger. Now I will have to look for another one any suggestions. I like Yahoo mail, but they don't have any e-mail notification out side of using their messenger.

Thanks and take care..............Gunny

Glad it did the business for you Gunny, it's not the most sophisticated program in the world but it does the job.
Hope it works for you to Rails....

Hi>>>>>>Some times it is the simple things that work the best. Especially in this computer age. Has any one any suggestions on the e-mail notification.? I like an audible notification some times, like if I am waiting for some one to come back to me, or a notice from Ebay about a bid, or things like that. I like to get back to people when I have asked them a question, and they are getting back to me with an answer, or some thing like this posting on PCmech. I know there has to be some free ware out there or some site that has this.

Thanks again and take care..............Gunny

There is desktop notification in gmail but to use it probably means installing the Google tool bar, I use gmail and all the little extras I have seen so far involve the use of the tool bar.
If you want to pm me I can give you a little more information about gmail.

Hi GLC

Tried that mail verifier, cant seem to get it to work. When reading about it, it says nothing about working with XP, or Yahoo mail. It says NT,2000, 95 & 98, but no XP. Have you used this with XP.? The little envelope is down in the tool bar, and I did all the settings, sound, when, etc. I sent e-mails to myself several times but no notice or sounds.

Sorry so long in getting back was not notified about a new post on here. I normally get back a lot quicker then this. 20 slaps with a wet noodle for me. And you know I would not just ignore you and this forum, you have been too good to me.

Thanks...........Gunny

I use Mailbox Verifier with my DSL. What happens when you right click on it and click Check All? There's no reason it shouldn't work as long as you have the POP server and login correct, and in XP, you allow it through the firewall.
