Having lots of problems loading Newegg.com

It's been going on for a while now (at least two weeks), but I am having lots of trouble loading Newegg.com pages. (I waited a while to see if they would fix the problem or were doing maintenance.)

I can get to "newegg.com" with very little problem, but doing anything else on their site just stalls. Occasionally it works just fine, as I made a purchase Friday, but that is a rare case that it worked.

Any click on a link, like Processors or Hard Drives just stalls, nothing happens. I'm not a "pollster," but for a test, I even tried voting on their poll on the home page. Nothing. Just an hour glass.

I've used all four of my browsers: IE 6, Firefox, Opera, and Netscape 4.x. I've even updated both Firefox and Opera to the latest and greatest (1.5.0.5 and 9.0) and no changes.

Anybody else having this problem?? I've been trying all day to do another purchase...

I've not had any problems with any other places I've gone.

TIA

TR

I've had problems with their site off and on for last week and a half.
Somtimes I can't get to it at all and sometimes I can get to it but can't do anything.
Then again, like this morning, everything is fine.

Rails, I don't really know what I'm talking about, but is it possible that newegg's site somehow got flagged by some security program on your comp? Could a firewall or pop-up blocking program cause that kind of site-specific interference? Or do you have other computers that replicate that same problem?

I have had problems with it too. But it seems that it's after the last two FF updates that I've experienced the problems. Deleting the 'newegg.com' and 'secure.newegg.com' cookies has seemed to clear everything up for me, as IE was working fine with the site.

Good idea, Kov-Ice. I did not change anything, but sometimes things change on their own. I'll try it out on the other computer! Thanks for the idea.

If I don't have any problems on the other computer, I'll give that a try. I do all shopping on this computer so it could be overloaded with cookies. Thanks for the idea, cadlewv.

Update

Thanks All for the tips!

Short version: It works now.

Long version: I tried the same Newegg newsletter link on the other machine, it worked fine. I tried going to different sections, like Hard Drives, and they all worked.

Back on this machine, they still didn’t work. First I checked Zone Alarm’s settings: no changes, so that wasn’t the problem. I manually removed over 8 meg of cookies and gifs, removing thousands of files from the IE cache directory. That didn’t work.

I used ZA’s cache cleaner and it removed another 64 megs worth of cookies and “stuff.” Now Newegg worked in IE, but still not in Firefox or Opera.

Now pretty certain it was not a cache problem, I used FF’s cookie tool and removed only Newegg cookies (and increased it’s cache to 10 meg from 5). Firefox now worked with Newegg, but still Opera didn’t. So I also deleted only Newegg cookies for a test; Opera now works with Newegg.

So, somehow, it sure does seem that I had corrupted cookies for (or should I say “from”?) Newegg.

During the weekend when Newegg didn’t work (which was a shame as I wanted to place an order) I made other purchases from other sites and had no problem at all. That’s why I didn’t think it was a cache or cookie problem.

Live and learn...

Again, that’s for the help that gotter fixed!!
