Hi raydioactive,
With Outlook Express (OE) you can send two types of emails, HTML and Text. With text emails you can only send text characters, so to make smilies you'll have to stick to using ) and : to make pseudo-smilies. With HTML emails you can insert the smilie graphics into your emails if you save smilie images to to your harddrive first. This will increase the size of the email though. Hope that helps.

raydioactive,
First, you need to check and see if your default email type is HTML by doing this: Open OE and click on Tools->Options->Send (tab). Under the Mail Sending Format area choose HTML. Click OK. Now, to insert the smilies: Click on the New Mail button While in the New Message text box, click on the Insert Picture button (far right, or just click on Insert->Picture), and then just click Browse for the Picture Source. Find the file of the smilie image and click OK. That's it! Hope that helps. |
