Outlook Express 6 Question

I am using Windows XP Home with all the updates. I use Outlook Express 6 for email. At times I would like to use special characters or symbols in my email, e.g. the symbol for degrees. I counld not figure out how to do this. Can this be done in OE6? Thanks.

You can use the character map. Open a run box and type charmap. You can also use the raw ASCII code if you know the keystrokes. For example, Alt+168 gives you this : ¿

You have to use the number pad with numlock on, it will not work with the number keys on the top of the keyboard.

Here's the set of "standard" codes:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASCII

There are several different "extended" code sheets that go higher than the original 127 character set. You can find lots more good info by Googling ASCII
