Firefox settings transfer

1. i've arranged my firefox settings differently on my portable version and on my installed version.

i'd like to transfer the settings (which include the way the toolbars are set up) from the portable version to the installed version.

anyone know how to do it?

2. i once told firefox never to remember my password on some sites and now i want it to remember them.
how can i get that "remember password?" window again?

Hi peekaboo,

Don't know off hand for #1, but for #2 try: Tools > Options, click on the Privacy Icon, then the Passwords tab. Checking the box there should do it.

Hi,

it's checked, and it does remember some passwords but sites that were once denied (by me) are not asked again. i want it to ask me again so i can choose to save it.

Try tools, options, privacy. passwords, open view saved passwords, open the passwords never saved tab and delete everything in the box. That should solve your problem.

I'm not sure if portable Firefox has 100% Firefox extension support, but from what I can tell, I think it does, and if it does, follow the instructions below, if not, completely ignore what I just said.

To port your settings to your desktop Firefox, install the FEBE extension to portable Firefox, then proceed to FEBE Options, and check "Backup entire profile." From there, install the FEBE extension onto your desktop Firefox, and click "Restore," and then "Profile," and load the .FBU file that portable Firefox created, and wa-la! your settings have been ported.

download FEBE: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2109/

Hope this helps!
