Mom's E-Mail Problem

Mom says when she types an outgoing e-mail, she has to hurry and send it or the words literally disappear off the screen and of course body of message. Sometimes they disappear as she's typing. I believe she's using Outlook or maybe even Yahoo. Lives a distance away and gets confused about PCs, but needs her mail. Evidently her incoming is okay.

I wonder if she is somehow changing the text to white. I haven't heard of any virus doing that. Sadly about the only way that you can solve it is by sitting next to her and seeing what she is doing.

My mother-in-law had problems with emails that she was sending out to my wife. She kept sending it to the wrong email address. I tried to help her over the phone but wasn't able to. When I went for a visit I was going to do a test. So I opened up her email and then opened her address book. Well it was empty. So I asked her where her address book was. She then pulls out a old piece of paper with names and email addresses on it. Apparently every time she sent someone an email she manually typed out the email address and hence the error.

I forgot to mention her address book became empty during the same period. Suddenly it's back. She hasn't "fixed" anything. I've never experienced such issues myself so hard to figure what's going on.

Send a message via AIM to thefultonhow
Are we sure this isn't something simple like a stuck Backspace key?

I saw something similar with a certain Windows update. It broke Outlook Express very nicely.
