Exclamation Firefox not starting..

I've recently ran into a problem. My mozilla firefox browser suddenly stopped working. When i try to open it, the firefox.exe shows up in the Task Manager but the program itself doesnt open.. Any clues?

I would start with uninstalling firefox, downloading the latest version and reinstalling.

You may have to create a new profile for yourself.
Check this out : http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#new

It worked! Finally.. but the question still remains. Why did Firefox decide not to function under the Default profile?

Glad you're good to go but what worked ?
What solution did you use ?
If something bit the install we need a little more info.

AArrgghh!!!!
I was hoping for Xmas.
Having to re-do the profile is a major annoyance and I (and many others) want to find out 'what', or what combination of 'whats', does this.
If it's any balm this has happened to others and the Firefox guys are chasing it down.
