Where can I get IE6?
Have an older machine with Win98SE and IE5. Where can I download a complete install of IE6 rather than installing the little setup exe then downloading from Microsoft. Thanks.

Not exactly. That's the little setup.exe, which is the ONLY way to do it. However, look at the below link:

Thanks GLC. I'm a little confused about the instructions "Go to the folder where you've placed the above file. Open a Command Prompt (CMD) in that folder, then run the following command in the CMD window:
ie6setup.exe /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E" I'm not understanding these instructions. Could you explain them in a more simple manner? Thanks. |

I'm not glc, but I'll try to help. It just basically means you need to pick a directory to install everything to and run everything from within that directory. For instance, say you create a directory on your C: drive called Downloads where you want to save it. When you download the little install file, you would direct it to go to that directory, C:\Downloads\. After that file is downloaded, you would open the command prompt and go to where the file is, in the Downloads directory. From that C:\Downloads directory, you would enter that installation string that they told you to enter....in other words, your command line is going to look like this C:\Downloads\ie6setup.exe /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E". What that will do is download the entire IE6 program like normal, but instead of scattering the files all around where they need to normally be installed, it will stick them all in one directory that you specify in the setup procedure (in this case, when it asks where to install, you could just tell it to install to the C:\Downloads directory that you created). When it's done downloading, the setup file and all the IE6 files *should* be in that same directory together, so you can burn them to a CD.

Use this instead:
http://www.msfn.org/articles.php?action=show&id=23 Petri assumes you have knowledge of basic DOS commands. |

You may be able to get it from www.oldversion.com but the server seems to be down at the moment.
