Opening Firefox changes my resolution setting.
For some reason my mother-in-law's computer changes it's resolution from 800x600 resolution, 32 bit color quality to 640x480, 8 bit color quality when I open Firefox. It changes back to normal when Firefox is closed out. It does not happen when I open Internet Explorer, which is what I'm using to type this message. I tried uninsalling and reinstalling Firefox to the latest version, but some result. Her computer is an hp pavilion mx703 running XP home. Does anyone know what's going on here?

Are you running firefox in compatibility mode? 256 colors on 640x480 sounds like it.

I think I must be running it in compatibilty mode. The desktop looks similar to when you are in "same mode." How do I change this? I can manually change back the desktop once firefox is opened, but it is only for that session. How do I change the settings so that it stays out of compatibiliy mode when I open Firefox?

Thanks! Can't believe it was that simple.
I wonder who changed that setting...
