Photo site, or blog for long trip
OK, I am headed for a very long trip, and I don't want to be sending individual photos and explanations to every one of my friends and family. I won't be leaving for a month, so I am planning on looking at a range of options for doing this while I still have broadband access. I may be limited to dial up from remote internet cafes at times, uploading from my camera or phone.
What choices do I have, exactly, for a very easy upload and link via e mail? I use Yahoo as my primary e mail, have a photobucket account. Suggestions for ease of use, adaptability of photos and resizing, comments about photos from me and others? |

Your best bet might be with a blogger account. It's fairly easy and allows you to resize your pictures etc. It also has mail-blog as well as blogging using MMS.

OK, I took your link and set up a free account. I will look at it in detail later, but for now I'll just ask if you happen to know whether it has this feature:
Can I preload a group of e mail addresses and send them an automatic alert every time I updated the blog? Something like this: Sunset has updated his blog, click here to see his update. PS: Last time I took a long trip, it was not as easy to update people....lol! |

I don't think blogger.com has that feature, but why don't you just download Picasa and use their features and just sent an email to your contacts using your gmail account?...well this is if you are taking a notebook with you!

you could install wordpress to your site and then add the subscribe plugin and just configure it to do what you need. http://www.skippy.net/blog/2005/02/17/subscribe2/
