third party dial-up (connect to) software

Does anyone know any free third party dialup software? I hate to reconnect to the internet everytime I open the pc, plus the connect-to provided by windows is quite slow to load up. I want instant connection after I log in. I don't have a router/hub for this, just a normal modem. Also I'm quite worried that only XP has control of my way to log on to the internet. Thanks

Are you referring to a PPPoE ADSL connection?

Why don't you just get a router?

I am connecting to a DSL broadband network that requires password. Is this what you mean?

Yes. Again, why don't you just get a router and store the username and password in the router?
