IE 7 hangs and doesn't like my keyboard!

Hi,
I have installed and uninstalled and reinstalled IE7 but I keep getting the same issues.

Basically, it takes ages to respond to my actions. Pages hand and seem to freeze. I click a button and nothing happens for ages (takes 30 seconds before I hear the 'click') - and most irritating of all when I am typing in a forum or a field of some sort I find it misses letters. So I have to type
s l o w l y a n d d e l i b e r a t e l y
It's almost as if the keystrokes are being held up and not registering - often I see the cursor hang in one place so I'm guessing that's related.

It doesn't happen in Firefox so I know it's not my system - and the reason I don't just give up and go with Firefox is because many of the sites I visit just aren't properly supported by Firefox - eg, ebay!

Anyway, I'd be interested to know if this was a known issue or if it was peculiar to me!

Thanks for reading.

Install the IE Tab extension for FireFox and in the drop down box put the sites you want opened in IE.

Oh wow - thanks pam; that's excellent!

Hey, maybe you could help me with another Firefox related thing?

How do I reimport my favourites? I ahve been using IE and all my favourites were created with that. I also have Firefox installed - the thing is that I have created more favourites with IE but Firefox still has only the list which it originally imported when I installed it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Friefox but it still only has taht first original list - so how can I update it?

Oh, and the other Favourites questions is - is there any way of making the favourites list sit in a panel like in IE? I must have a hundred folders in my favourite list so when I use it as a pull down menu I am constantly tiling up and down the list which is much slower than having a panel.

If you have any answers I would be glad to read them.

To import 'Favorites' from IE :

From Internet Explorer

On Windows, Mozilla Suite will automatically import Internet Explorer "Favorites" when first installed and whenever you create a new profile. You can manually import your IE Favorites but you have to first use Internet Explorer to export the Favorites to a file, then use the Mozilla Suite or Firefox Bookmarks Manager to import it.

Quote:
To export your IE Favorites to a file

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Go to "File > Import and Export...", then click Next.
3. Select "Export Favorites", click Next, click Next again (unless you only want to export a subfolder of your Favorites, in which case, select that subfolder now).
4. Click "Export to a File or Address", click "Browse" to choose a location such as the desktop (or accept the default location) and save the file, which is named "bookmark.htm" by default.
5. Click Next, then Finish to complete the export.

After you've finished exporting your IE Favorites to a file, use the Mozilla Suite or Firefox Bookmarks Manager and import the file.

I would just put the recently added favorites in subfolder and export that.

I've never had to deal with the "long list" problem but just go here and ask : http://forums.mozillazine.org/

All the best.
