Angry Fire Speed Capping

Who would be the most likely to cap my DSL speed? Pacbell or SBC Communications?
Went from 1192 dl to 384.

Carlgif,

I have PacBell DSL too so quickly went to run the speedtests to see if they capped and other lines. Luckaly mines still at 1190.

From what I've read on the DSL Reports PacBell forum, the most effective way to uncap your line is to email datacomm@sbc.com and ask them. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply and link Doc. I ran only one test but will run a couple more to see if it remains the same.
DSLReports sure has been an invaluable site.

Carl, run a few more tests and if still around 384, call 'em. They shouldn't cap it that low UNLESS you're having trouble with loop being on edge of too far. This is often done after you've made alot of trouble reports and they decide the distance is too great. You'd know by now if this was the case. Call 'em.

Sarge,
I did call them and about that time the whole Pacbell hub in Stockton, Ca went kaput. It was down for about 4 hours. Since then, I run a test every 30 minutes and the speed is slowly coming back up. First test was 405kbs, second was 545 and the third was 615. Thing is, throughput seems very good as everything runs like before.
