Open Source Alternative to "Personal File Server"?
Hey Everybody,
I'm very unknowledgeable when it comes to web servers/apache, etc... But I did find a very useful program called Personal File Server, which was a standalone exe which would set up a file server on port 8880, with its own web interface and everything. You could upload, download, etc... worked great, but the problem was that the trial version would automatically turn itself off after 20 minutes ![]() Is there an open source alternative I could use that won't require me to learn how to use apache, etc? Thanks ![]() P.S. Since paying $80 for the full version is out of the question for me... still in the red from building my PC...

I suppose it is similar, but Personal File Server could allow clients to connect through a browser window... and I also can't figure out how to share files with FileZilla
![]() But that's because I have no idea how to use this program... yet... Thanks, glc. |

Filezilla has 2 components - a FTP server and a FTP client.

Awesome. I spent a night at the Filezilla forums, and finally figured out how to configure it
![]() It's perfect, thanks again! |
