Enclose the URL in square brackets.
Look at the source of this post (edit it to see). http://members.cnx.net/reboot ------------------ Who needs a life?, I have internet! Cheers, Jim Jim & Sue's Free Files | Jims Modems |

Thanks for coming to my rescue again reboot. I have this inate ability to make simple things hard. Would you please take a look at my reply to byte in the general discussion forum about laws in Tennesee and see what I'm doing wrong? I copied and and pasted the URL first and then added the brackets. Thanks again reboot.
Carlgif P.S I did look at your post (edit) and confusion reigns when the URL seems to show twice. ------------------ Too Soon Oldt--Too Late Schmardt. [This message has been edited by Carlgif (edited 06-05-2000).] |

One more time. How do I cut & paste a URL to show someone a site? This time I'll write it down. My memory is shot.

The first part of the URL (URL=http://members.cnx.net/reboot) is the REAL link, the second part can say anything you like, thus:
quote: The problem was, you didn't put anything in the second part. You need at least one character in there. ------------------ Who needs a life?, I have internet! Cheers, Jim Jim & Sue's Free Files | Jims Modems [This message has been edited by reboot (edited 06-05-2000).] |

You can also copy the URL and paste it without any tags ... ie http://nolo.com/
(when looking in edit mode, the tags are put in automatically) [This message has been edited by archie (edited 06-05-2000).] |

Hi Archie. I guess the secret word here is "copy" and not "cut". I cut and pasted the url and of course didn't work. When I get the chance, I'll try the copy and paste. Thanks for the alternative. Carlgif
