Question CGI and Script Engine Executables in IIS

Anyone have any experience running script engines as executables (i.e. the setting "Scripts and Executables") inside IIS 6? I've been trying to avoid this but one of my customer's customer's needs is now calling for it.

I love the service extension ISAPI's because everything is self contained with IIS's security model... do script exe's run the same way or do I have to manually define the parameters it can run under?

Any shared experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
