Quicktime causes trouble in Firefox and IE
I have quicktime installed for viewing trailers from apple. I also have windows media player and winamp for audio and video. I do not want Quicktime to play either mpg or mp3 formats. But, whenever I open a video in mpg format in Firefox, it plays in Quicktime, EVEN though I unchecked that box from Quicktime settings, it should not be one of the formats that it plays.
Same thing happens in IE for mp3! I open an mp3 in IE and it uses Quicktime to launch it, when I unchecked that box in Quicktime. Is this something any of you had experience with? What can I do?

Change the file type settings the tools menu under My computer. Change the file extensions you want to WMP or something. See if that works.

I may be missing something, but I cannot find that setting in my "My Computer" options. Is it possible its an option available in WinXp Pro, and not in my WinXP home?
