Having (hopefully) cleaned up the KAK virus under Win 98, I am left with 2 puzzles:
1) Windows displays the message: C:\windows\kak.reg Error opening file. There may be a disk or file system error. 2) On receiving e-mails from the infected PC, IE5 displays: An Active X control is not safe on this page. Your current security controls prevent running unsafe controls on this page. As a result this page may not display as intended. ------------------ Vive la difference! |

You have not completely removed the worm. Go here for detailed cleanup instructions: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...00020318071406

Thks glc, will do as Symantec say. Interesting that I can find no reference to this virus (or any other) on the McAfee website.
