Hello,
I have Netscape Communicater ver. 4.7 and my problem is that when I am going to read or delete a message, it takes a full ten seconds to do it. This happened all of a sudden and I have not made any changes in my computer configuration. I tried Outlook Express and the same tasks are done fine. Any help appreciated. Try compacting your folders.

Hello,
I tried to do that, but I had no luck. As last resort, I just uninstall Netscape and do a fresh installation again. Thanks for the reply. |

Did you try deleting the cache? When it gets too full, things slow down to a crawl while it does it for you.

Hello,
Tried that with no luck either. I've tried everything from deleting cookies, clearing the cache manually and many other things and I am close to screaming, so I will just reinstall everything again and live in peace with this program. Thanks for the replies. |

When you say messages, are you talking e-mail?
If so, we had that problem in NS 4.5. We were able to solve the problem by clearing out all the old saved messages. We now make a point of deleting messages and clearing the waste bucket regularly.
