Problems with IE6

I downloaded IE6, at first sight it looked great but then, automatic browser forwarding doesnt work anymore, and I can't acces hotmail anymore which is damn annoying, does anyone know a solution to this problem??
I'm thinking of un-installing IE6 alltogether if that can't be solved, there is not even and un-install feature(in the add/remove programs in the control panel)

I think you should review your security and privacy settings in IE6. Because Everything works on my machine.

You cannot access Hotmail or any other website that requires cookies with the privacy setting set at the max. Bring it down one setting and when you try to access Hotmail look in the status bar. There will be a red circle with a bar inside. Double click on this and IE will show you the cookie it blocked. Highlight that cookie and click on summary. At the bottom of the box you will see three check boxes. Choose the middle line "always allow this site to use cookies". Click okay then click close. Close IE6 and then reload it. You can now access your website.

I ran into the same problem last weekend on my fiancee's parents pc with hotmail. I checked the browser settings, they were all fine. Turned out it was the time and date set on the pc (was set to 2008). When I corrected the time and cleared the cookies, I was able to get into hotmail no problem.

Holy old thread Batman, this one is from 2001. Make a new topic if ya need to post something .

On the date and time, several things could cause it to go wrong. First thing to check would be the BIOS time to make sure it's correct. When CMOS batteries start to go bad the first sign is often your date and time going haywire.

If your BIOS won't hold the correct time after resetting it, that's your problem. There'll be a battery on your motherboard (resembles a large watch battery) that you can pop out and replace.
