Hosts file problems in IE 7

Hi,

When I try to block sites in the hosts file for Internet Explorer, it does not work. It seems like it totally ignores the entries. I used the same file with the sam einformation in it for IE 6 and it worked great but IE 7 doesnt work.

All my entries are set up like this:
127.0.0.1 http://www.website.com
127.0.0.1 www.website.com
127.0.0.1 website.com

I tried resating the browser and computer a few times but to no avail.

So I'm wondering if there is a way to make it work and if not, if there is another easy way to block sites. I can do it with my router but there is only so many entries that it accepts, like 20 or so. I really like the hosts file way because it uses no other programs and does not slow anything down.

TIA

Thanks for answering, I have already tried several different lengths between the ip adress and the link but it didnt make a differnce. The problem with the restriced sites thing is that i want to block the sites for all the people using the computer, everybody else has ltheir own limited account.
